Android TV / Box

Time: 3–5 min Player: any compatible Play Store app Level: Easy

Android TV (and generic Android TV boxes from Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, or any off-brand Android-based set-top box) is the easiest platform to set up. Multiple well-rated players are published directly in the Google Play Store — no sideloading, no developer mode, no unknown-sources toggle required.

What you'll need

  • An Android TV, Google TV, or Android-based set-top box signed into a Google account.
  • An active TwinsVision subscription or 24-hour trial.
  • Your streaming credentials (Server URL, Username, Password) — shown on your client portal dashboard. These are different from your TwinsVision account login.

Recommended players

Based on independent reviews, these three Google Play Store apps are the most reliable picks for Android TV. Any of them will work with our service — the setup steps are almost identical across all three. Pick one.

  1. TiviMate — the most popular choice; free tier is sufficient for live TV. Premium (~$10/year or ~$33 lifetime) unlocks recordings, multiple playlists, catch-up TV, and parental controls. Best-in-class interface and TV-guide matching.
  2. IPTV Smarters Pro — completely free; simple, beginner-friendly. Includes live TV, movies, series, and built-in recording. Broadest platform support if you also use iOS or Windows.
  3. Bob Player — free; clean native Android TV interface. Supports XC login, TV guide, and catch-up viewing.

Step-by-step installation

1

Open the Google Play Store

From the Android TV home screen, open the Google Play Store app. Sign in with your Google account if prompted.

2

Search for your chosen player

Select the search field at the top and type the name of the player you picked from the list above (for example, TiviMate).

3

Install the app

Select the app from the search results and choose Install. Wait for the install to finish, then open the app.

4

Add a new playlist

On first launch, the player asks you to add a playlist or subscription. Select Add playlist (or similar — wording varies by app).

5

Choose the XC login option

When the app asks which type of source you want to add, pick the XC login option (sometimes shown as Xtream Codes inside the player). This single option gives you live TV, movies, and series together.

6

Enter your streaming credentials

Fill the fields using the details shown on your client portal dashboard:

  • Name / Playlist name: TwinsVision (any label you like)
  • Server URL: the Server URL shown on your dashboard
  • Username: the Username shown on your dashboard
  • Password: the Password shown on your dashboard

Letters are case-sensitive — make sure capitals match. Again, these are not your TwinsVision account login (email + password).

7

Save and let the channels load

Confirm / Save. The player will download the channel list and TV guide. The first load takes 30 seconds to a couple of minutes.

8

Start watching

Once the playlist finishes loading, browse Live TV, Movies, and Series and pick something to watch.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay for the player app?
No — IPTV Smarters Pro and Bob Player are completely free. TiviMate has a free tier that works for basic live TV; Premium (a few dollars per year) adds recordings, catch-up TV, and multiple playlists, but is not required to use our service.
I can't find the app I want in the Play Store.
A few Android TV boxes ship with a restricted Play Store that hides some apps. Try searching for another name from the recommended list, or open the Play Store on your phone, sign in with the same Google account, and push the install remotely — it will appear on your TV afterwards.
Channels don't load or the TV guide is empty.
Double-check that your Server URL, Username, and Password match exactly what is shown on your client portal dashboard — letters are case-sensitive. Remove the playlist and add it again. The TV guide loads in the background and can take a few minutes to fully populate the first time.
Playback buffers on a 4K stream.
Most buffering issues come from Wi-Fi. A wired Ethernet connection almost always fixes it. If Ethernet isn't possible, move the box closer to the router or use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. We recommend at least 50 Mbps for smooth 4K playback.
Can I install more than one player?
Yes. You can install TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, and Bob Player side by side and point them all to the same TwinsVision credentials. They do not interfere with each other.
